Are you on a hard comedown from last weekend’s sun filled festival goodness? Don’t worry, Ireland isn’t letting you down and we aren’t relenting on the packed festival schedules just yet! Let that festival feel continue through another weekend, with a look at some more fests and even a few gigs that should keep you more than content on this long haul road to Electric Picnic!

Festivals

  • Kilkenny Arts

The 40th anniversary of the Kilkenny Arts fest is boasting quite the list of acts and being approx a 1 & a half hour drive from our fair capital, it’s not for everyone but the line-up is truly tantalising! Note that this fest also has family friendly events ongoing throughout!

Location: Kilkenny…Could you guess? Gigs are spread about the city, so check their official website for info re: each gig!

Line-Up: The Divine Comedy, Fight Like Apes, The Fall, David Kitt R.S.A.G. with Replete, Seti the First, Biggles Flys Again and the Thomas Donoghue Band & more! Not all music with this fest either, so broaden your horizons for a performance from the Globe Theatre players (London), and an array of workshops!

Price: Tickets range from €5 to €32 and are available from the Kilkenny Arts website.

  • Mohill BlueGrass

For this fest, you just have to know how to let loose, bring your best cowboy hat and prepare to go absolutely mental because nothing less will be expected of you here!

Location: Mohill, Co. Leitrim!

Line-Up: Hard Station, Down and Out Bluegrass Band, The Greasy Coat String Band plus more!

Price: Saturday Concert tickets priced at a bargain of €5 with all other events including a BBQ completely free!

  • Sligo Summer Festival

Sligo Summer Fest is a celebration of music, sport and culture, with a range of open air gigs, a 10km swim if you’re feeling brave and even a soapbox derby! Note that this also an entirely family friendly event, so bring the kids!

Location: Sligo! (Can you see a trend running through this weekend’s festivals?)

Line-Up: Sharon Shannon, Mundy, The Original Rudeboys, Kila, The Quakers plus more!
