Spirit of Folk Festival Semi-Finals Announced!
The Spirit of Folk Festival has confirmed that it’s Semi-Finals will take place in Whelans, Wexford Street on August 31st.
Doors will open at 3.30pm to accommodate a day boasting nine of Ireland’s upcoming folk singers, a host of storytellers, a craft market and if that wasn’t irish enough for you, it’s ending in a mighty céilí!
The musical line-up includes Moxie, Miriam Donohue, My Fellow Sponges, Garr Cleary, Mossy Nolan & Colm McGowan, Laura Ann Brady (one of DublinConcerts.ie’s former “Ones to Watch), The Cujo Family, Vickers Amy and A Band Called Wanda. Judge’s Carl Cocoran (Lyric FM), Leagues O’Toole (Aiken Promotions), Conor Byrne (The Liffey Banks Sessions) and Julie Cooper (Dolittle Presents) will watch these 9 acts folk-battle it out to make it to the Feastival Final at Dunderry Park on September, 21st of this year.
The winner will receive a €1000 bursary, coveted recording time at Darklands Studio, a weeks residence at Dunderry Park so they can let their creative folk juices flow and of course, all the fame and glory! Sounds like a hooley!
Tickets are a steal at €10 for the entire day and will give you access to Whelans upstairs venue and the boutique parlour bar!
