Ron-Pope

American singer-songwriter and heartbreaker extraordinaire Ron Pope and fellow New Yorkers Wakey!Wakey! have announced a concert for Vicar Street for early 2014!

The gig will take place on the 2nd of February (early Valentine’s present, eh?) and is a guaranteed tug at your heartstrings, group-swooning event! Ron Pope is probably best known for his song “A Drop in the Ocean” which essentially went viral thanks to being placed in a rather distressing, lamentable fan made video for Denny’s death in Grey’s Anatomy! Needless to say, he has this love song thing down to a tee and has a pretty strong legion of fans all across the globe. His new album is set to be released in January, 2014. Wakey! Wakey! also made it onto the heartbreakers last when they were roped in for the season finale soundtrack of One Tree Hill with their tune War Sweater! Their new highly anticipated album is also due out in January of next year!

Ron Pope and Wakey! Wakey! will be joined by special guest Alexz Johnson, who is a Candian singer-songstress based in Brooklyn, NY. She has been writing songs since the age of 12, was signed by Epic Sony in 2008 and then let down by an internal change in the company! She’s since taken over the independent music scene, releasing her own EP “Skipping Stone”, thanks to Kickstarter! Seeing as she convinced people to hand over $30,000 in 24 hours, we’re pretty sure she’ll be worth seeing!

Tickets priced at €20 including booking fee will be available from Ticketmaster from this Friday, August 16th at 9am!
