The Blades announce Olympia Theatre date

Update: The Blades add an extra date at The Olympia Theatre on December 14th.

70s New wave group The Blades have confirmed a show at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on December 13th 2013.

The band’s first album titled ‘The Last Man in Europe’ was released in January 1985, followed by the singles collection ‘Raytown Revisited’ later the same year. “Raytown Revisited” is considered essential listening and is included in the book ‘101 Irish Albums to hear before you die’ by Tony Clayton-Lea.

In January 1986, not long after the release the band played their final gig in Drogheda. The decision to split was influenced by the band’s view on the music industry. The band members have played in various band since then.
