U2-whelansAfter a long time of absence from Irish stages, U2 have confirmed a special acoustic gig in one of Dublin’s most popular venues.

Whelan’s is celebrating 25 years of existence in 2014 with a series of concerts featuring renowned acts returning to the iconic venue. One of the most exciting ones announced so far is U2. The concert will take place on June 31st from 8 PM.

Bono, The Edge, Adam and Larry are all very excited to be back to their hometown for this gig. “It’s been a while since we played Dublin. This gig is long overdue, so we’re all excited and nervous, in a way. It will be fun, being an acoustic gig in a small venue so close to close to our hearts” said frontman Bono.

Tickets, priced €29.95 go on sale next Monday.

Don’t forget it’s April 1st today. Don’t take things too seriously. Share the “news” with your friends. :)
