Brad Paisley - Country to Country - DublinOn Sunday April 13th at The Mansion House the Lord Mayor Of Dublin will announce a new annual music event for Dublin. MusicTown is a musical exposition that embraces traditional, contemporary, jazz, choral and classical genres. The lineup for the launch on Sunday includes:

  • Donal Lunny and Paddy Glackin
  • Fionnuala Moynihan
  • Weapons of Mass Percussion
  • Bell X1
  • Dublin Handelian Orchestra conductor Prionnsias O Duinn
  • Lisa O’Neill
  • Our Lady’s Choral Society

MusicTown is inspired by the classical composer Handel and the heritage Dublin holds as a result of his work here. Handel’s Messiah was had it first complete public performance in Neale’s Music Hall in Christchurch two hundred and seventy two years to the date of the Music Town launch.

The first full MusicTown event will take place in April 2015, details are yet to be confirmed. The launch of MusicTown is a free ticketed event with limited capacity, but there are some available tickets at musictown.ie.
