Duke-SpecialFollowing on from his first successful run of dates, Duke Special is bringing his Gramophone Club back to the Liquor Rooms on Wellington Quay on Thursday 29 May.

The Gramophone Club came about after a chance meeting between Duke Special and The Shellac Collective. The concept is pretty simple; Duke Special plays nothing but 78rpm records from days gone by. Those attending can expect to hear the likes of jazz, dance band music and rockabilly amongst a myriad of styles.

Guests are encouraged to dress up to match the period and there will be prizes awarded for the best dressed on the night.

This sounds like a fun night out. It’s always nice to do something that’s a little different from the same old routine. If you can’t make it to the Liquor Rooms then there are also shows in The Sunflower Bar, Belfast on 30 May, The Spirit Store, Dundalk on 31 May and Dr John’s, Limerick on 1 June.
