midnight-beastStars of their own hit show on E4, The Midnight Beast will bring their ‘Dirty Weekend Tour’ to the Academy on 2 August. This will be an over-14’s show and there will be strictly no alcohol at the event.

Having started off as a viral sensation when their video for ‘Tik Tok’, a parody of a Ke$ha song, received 25,000 hits on YouTube, the band have gone on to star in their own E4 series which is now in its second season. Those YouTube hits are now in the millions and the band have just released their new album ‘Shtick Heads’. This is one phenomenon that’s not going away any time soon.

Tickets cost €16.50 and will go on sale on Friday 30 May at 9am.

Update: The Midnight Beast’s gig at The Academy has been cancelled. Here’s the statement from the band:

’Hey guys, real sorry but we have to cut short our tour this summer due to filming commitments. If you have tickets for Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff, Gloucester, Preston or Liverpool please seek a refund at your point of purchase.

We’ll have an exciting July festival announcement for you very very soon !!!!’
