Forbidden Fruit extends across the city this weekend
The long weekend is almost upon us and that means that it’s almost time for Forbidden Fruit. The festival in IMMA in the heart of Dublin city is now in its fourth year and this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.
A host of top quality acts, such as Bell x1, The Flaming Lips, 2 Many DJs and a first ever Dublin appearance from Flying Lotus will mix with the cream of young, local talent like New Secret Weapon, Lisa O’Neill, Vann Music and Daithí for a weekend-long party that will stretch beyond the walls of the famous old grounds in Kilmainham thanks to the addition this year of Forbidden Fruit and the City.
Forbidden Fruit and the City will see 20 bands, who were selected from last year’s Hard Working Class Heroes festival, play acoustic sets in venues all over town each day in the hours leading up to the main event itself. Seems like a perfect way to gear yourself up before you board the complimentary buses that will leave Harcourt Street for the venue from 1pm to 7pm on both days of the festival.
Not only that, this year will also see the addition of the Bulmers Good Time Lounge which will allow festival goers to enjoy live DJ performances, have photos taken in the photo booth and generally just chill out with the Main Stage in perfect view.
With 10,000 people expected each day and after-parties planned all over the city, Forbidden Fruit is definitely the place to be this bank holiday weekend – oh, and did we mention that the weather forecast is looking very promising too?
Tickets are still on sale, priced €59.50 for one day and €110 for a weekend pass.
