Morrissey & Marshall

Today we have the newest instalment of Irish Band of the Week. Fresh from your Electric Picnic hangover we have some new music to tickle your fancy. Well, maybe not so new. Morrissey & Marshall have been doing the rounds since early 2011 and have really come to the fore in the past 12 month, even invited to play for the President Michael D. Higgins and his wife.

Talented duo don’t come around too often, especially in this day and age. It’s a narrow market but the two Dublin lads seem to have hit the nail right on the head. Changing with the times is always difficult, but Morrissey and Marshall adapted themselves to be the best that they could offer. Now based in London, the pair quickly received big attention with the release of their debut album, ‘And So It Began’, earlier this year; they look to push on with further success.

You could compare them to many duos of the past, even some sharing the folk-pop genre, but this would be unfair to Darren & Greg. With a plethora of UK shows to come, the guys come back to Ireland to play a handful of shows including one in The Workman’s Club in Dublin. It’s in the same venue where we saw them play this time last year on the launch of their debut single.
