Redwoods Irish band of the Week

What good is making music if it isn’t fun? This week’s Irish Band of the Week look like they had great craic making the video for their new single ‘Coffee Song’, which we can exclusively reveal here on Dublin Concerts! Redwoods are a four piece band hailing from Greystones and have been on the Irish music scene for a few years now. With a little help from their friends, the Wicklow lads shot and edited the video themselves.

2012 saw the release of their debut EP ‘Nowhere to hide’ which saw the band gain significant interest including being placed on 2FM’s playlist. 2013 went even bigger again, with a massive invitation to play on RTE’s Late Late Show where they provided the audience with a great performance of their single ‘Don’t take me down’.

Now 2015 is upon us and with a fresh new EP on the horizon, Redwoods will kick it off with a big launch party in Whelan’s on Friday February 6th. The self-titled EP contains 4 tracks, opening with the aforementioned lead single ‘Coffee Song’. The EP continues with the wonderful ‘I’ll see you again’ with its explosive guitars and sumptuous vocals, it flows so well ‘til its finale. Next up ‘Fallen’ will definitely be a fan favourite and one that will fill the front of the stage. ‘Tired Eyes’ is the closing track of the short EP but in no way does it disappoint. Overall the EP is sharp, clean and well balanced and in fact it just leaves you wanting more.

So, if like us, it leaves you wanting more, get down to Whelan’s on Friday February 6th for the launch party. See below for the video for their latest single ‘Coffee Song’ exclusive to us here at Dublin Concerts.
