Canalaphonic 2015 lineup

There is a new festival in town, Canalaphonic, set to take place on 8th and 9th May throughout Portobello and Rathmines. The first acts have been revealed.

It promises to be the coolest event in Dublin this year, providing an outlet for unsigned and independent musicians, artists and performers. Acts like The Hot Sprockets, Gavin Glass and Corner Boy are on the bill, and there is much more besides music.

On Friday and Saturday evening from 5 – 9.30pm, bands will play on a barge at Portobello Harbour, followed by gigs in 22 venues throughout the area.
On Saturday, there will be a boutique market at Portobello Harbour from 12 – 4pm, along with barge trips, and family fun activities.

A second stage will be in place from 12- 5pm at Rathmines Plaza which will feature trad musicians from Rathmines College, with children activities taking place at the front of St Mary’s College. Mart (the old Rathmines fire station) will host a 20 piece jazz swing band at 7pm on Saturday. So, there will be something for everyone.
