Introducing a Stunning New Singer-Songwriter, Áine Cahill
Áine Cahill is a twenty one year old singer songwriter from Cavan. A stunning little songbird with powerful polished vocals and a penchant for writing songs of glossy melodrama.
Believe it or not, this is the girl who couldn’t get into the school choir. She was told she wasn’t good enough. She never sang at all untill she was sixteen. The showstopping moment happened when two pupils sitting at the school piano were struggling to hit the notes of an Adele song. Aine walked over and started singing. She hasn’t stopped since.
Writing all her own material, she gets inspiration from artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Melody Gardot, Lana Del Ray, Marina And The Diamonds and Lady Gaga. We discovered Aine at the Youbloom music festival in Dublin in June. Since then, Aine has been chosen by 2FM to play at Electric Picnic, she’s performed her new single ‘Black Dahlia’ live for Ian Dempsey on Today FM as well as numerous gigs and festivals nationwide. ‘Black Dahlia’ tells the story of a Hollywood murder in the 1950s. Watch the video below.
Keep your eye on this girl, she’s going to be sharing stages with her idols in no time!
