Mongoose are set to host a ‘Winter Longing’ themed evening with friends in Whelan’s on 19 November.

Mongoose are a female foursome that are a huge hit with the country’s alternative folk scene. Their music consists of a mix of a number of genres such as pop and folk to jazz and trad. Their influences range from Simon and Garfunkel to Fleetwood Mac, with a bit of Beyoncé thrown in for good measure. Their much anticipated debut album was released early this year in Dublin to a sold out Sugar Club. Mongoose had a busy year doing the festival circuit with appearances at Vantastival, B. A. R. E. in the Woods, Valentia Isle, Groove, Knockanstockan, Body & Soul, Longitude and Electric Picnic.

Off the back of their extremely successful self-titled debut album, the alternative pop-folk band will host ‘Winter Longing’ in the Main Room in Whelan’s, Wexford St. on 19 November. Mongoose will bring their unique style of folk and vocal harmony to this intimate gig, with help from some of their favourite artists.

Special guests include: The Young Folk, Griff, Ian Bermingham, Dimitra Xidous, Niamh Regan, and Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin.

Tickets are €12/€10 student rate and are available now.
