Vantastival Re-imagined For 2016

Drogheda’s Vantastival will see a major overhaul for its seventh year, with changes to the location, dates and more. This revamp comes in the wake of the poor weather conditions which marred last year’s event, with the organisers opting to reduce the scale of the festival in order to provide the optimal experience for those attending in 2016.

After four years in Bellurgan Park, the organisers have decided to relocate Vantastival to the grounds of Beaulieu House, just outside Drogheda. Located on the banks of the River Boyne, this 17th Century manor house should provide a scenic backdrop for the event.

As of this year, the festival will now take place on the June bank holiday weekend, Friday 3 June and Saturday 4 June, as opposed to the early May event of previous years. Hopefully rescheduling to the middle of the summer will ensure that the weather won’t negatively impact Vantastival, as it did last year.

Additionally, the open submission policy for bands has been abandoned in favour of a more traditionally selected line-up, to be put together by the organisers. Attendees can expect some favourites from past years, as well as a range of new acts.

The scaling back of the festival means that only 1,000 tickets will be available for 2016, with a very limited number of early bird tickets, priced at €65, on sale from Thursday, 14 January. More information about these changes, and ticket pricing, can be found at vantastival.com.
