More Acts Announced For Electric Picnic 2016
Joining the first 27 acts set for EP madness this September include Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who will be treating fans to hits from their 2015 album Chasing Yesterday, as well as guitar pop darlings The 1975. The latter are no strangers to Stradbally and will make a much welcomed return after ace performances in 2013 and 2014.
Also joining the bill is legendary hip-hop artist Nas, as well as indie icons The Shins and singer songwriter Bat For Lashes, who is set to release her fourth studio album, The Bride, this July. UK pop rockers Catfish And The Bottlemen will also be in attendance, as well as California five-piece Local Natives, hip-hop stalwart Joey Bada$$ and indie heroes Editors.
On the other end of the spectrum, we’ll see DJ extraordinaire John Talabot and garage legend DJ EZ leading the charge on the dance front. Reggae legends Toots And The Maytals also return with their unique blend of soul, ska and gospel after an explosive performance on the main stage back in 2011.
Grime star Kano will appear alongside EDM producer/songwriter Mura Masa, folk-rocker Kevin Morby and homegrown electronic musician/DJ Shit Robot.
Jessy Lanza, who is riding on the success of her brilliant sophomore album, is also Stradbally-bound along with rising North London hip-hop artist Little Simz, Chicago rockers Whitney, indie-pop outfit Frankie Cosmos, LA-based disco-duo Lemaitre and Londoners Pumarosa.
