The competition has ended!

Art-rock quartet Egyptian Hip Hop will have their first Irish show that will take place at The Grand Social on February 28th. Support comes from Vann and I ♡ The Monster Hero.

The hot young Manchester outfit released their impatiently-awaited debut album “Good Don’t Sleep” on R&S Records in October 2012, to sweeping acclaim.

Egyptian Hip Hop first emerged back in 2009 as four sparky 17-year-olds from Manchester with an uncanny knack for lush, scruffy melodies and raucous tales of guitar lessons from Johnny Marr. The band began rehearsing at Manchester’s Sunshine Studios and playing small gigs in the city’s cafes and bars. They soon attracted the attention of some major music publications, including The Fly, Q and NME. Their debut EP “Some Reptiles Grew Wings”, produced by Warp’s Hudson Mohawke, featured a clutch of delectably angular pop songs and affirmed their singular sense of rhythm. Egyptian Hip Hop received further press attention and were booked to play bigger festivals. We have now the chance to see them in Dublin.

We are giving away tickets for this gig.
