Elaine McDonald
Elaine is originally from Laois but was lured to the capital by the music scene, and possibly for college. She holds a BA in English and History from UCD, and is currently working as a pharmacy manager whilst finishing her MA in English literature. Her hobbies include writing, music, and eating.
Growing up in Laois meant she was never too far from Electric Picnic (which she was fortunate enough to review last year), and the music scene in her hometown meant her musical tastes are pretty far-reaching. Some of her favourite artists include Arctic Monkeys, Florence + the Machine, Kings of Leon, The Smiths, and The Black Keys. However, she is partial to a power ballad and has been caught belting out an anthem on more than one occasion.
You can catch Elaine performing the best of Britney Spears and Katy Perry in her kitchen with hairbrush in hand, but hopefully you will enjoy her reviews more.
Some of Elaine’s work:
- Heirs by And So I Watch You From Afar – Review
- Red Moon Bayonets – Irish Band of the Week
- Florence + The Machine – How Big How Blue How Beautiful – Review
