Sophie Butler

Sophie ButlerSophie’s love of music began when she found her mother’s 1978 copy of Elvis Presley’s ‘Return to Sender’. Her earliest memories consist of walking into playschool singing ‘Hound Dog’ out of tune and at the top of her lungs. She’s stuck to writing every since.

She is currently studying for her B.A. in New Media & English in her hometown of Limerick. She started working in journalism just earlier this year and since then she’s interviewed artists such as Wheatus, Little Hours, Ryan Sheridan, The Riptide Movement, Peter Hook, Johnny Marr and HamsandwicH.

She can often be seen at gigs in Dolan’s even though she’s usually too short to see the band. She also regularly makes the trek up to Dublin to see some of her favourite bands but it’s always worth it.
Some of her favourite artists include Morrissey, Paul McCartney and Marina and the Diamonds – basically anyone whose name starts with an ‘M’.
