Beach – Irish Band Of The Week

Beach Whelan's Review

Beach Irish Band Of The Week

This week’s Irish band of the Week are Beach, a five-piece band hailing from Dublin. The band had been on a year-long hiatus before reforming later last year, releasing their latest single, ‘Arabia’, in November 2015 with the accompanying B-Side ‘Moon Smoke’.

The band are quite unique in their sound, with a startling unique combination of electronica and, as they call it, ‘slacker rock’ which basically forms to create a musical feast, songs that irresistibly challenge the status-quo of the musical charts. Their sound channels the essence of Milky Chance but with a cooler accent underscoring each track. The trippy brilliance of their music is the perfect way to break the monotony of January, and this musical ingenuity demonstrates immense musical promise for such a fresh band on the scene. The richness of vocals, the moments of slow-burning melody – musicianship is something that all emerging bands should take note of.

The band are already off to a flying start in 2016 with the recording of their music video for ‘Donuts’. But until its release, check out ‘Arabia’ which has all the smoothness and groove you need on to help you shake your Monday Blues.
