Big September – Irish Band of the Week

big-septemberWe’re back with the latest instalment of the Irish Band of the Week. This time around it’s indie rockers Big September who take the limelight.

Hailing from Bray in Co. Wicklow, the five piece consist of Scott O’Neill in vocals, guitarists Cillian Duane and Dave Butler, Dan Smith on drums and Graham O’Neill on bass, and take their influences from the likes of The Beatles, Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene. Originally called Peakin’ Trippers, the lads decided to change their name to Big September because they got fed up with correcting people who kept getting their name wrong.

The lads have had a very busy and successful 2013, including headline gigs at Dublin’s famous Whelan’s venue and the annual Bray Summerfest. They also gave one of the best live performances of the year at the first ever Groove Festival held in Bray’s beautiful Kilruddery House & Gardens back in July. Their previous singles ‘The Preacher’, ‘Moneyman’ and their brand new release ‘Tear It All Up’ proved to be massive crowd favourites.

Big September play their biggest headline gig to date in The Academy, Dublin on Saturday 21st December. Tickets are €11 and available through Ticketmaster.

Support will come from RudyTrixX.
