Death in the Sickroom - Irish Band of the Week

I know I probably say this quite often, but the quality of the music coming from Ireland is absolutely astounding. Week after week I listen to several bands to pick the Irish Band of the Week and every week I struggle to get it down to just 1. As fellow Dublin Concerts contributor Mark pointed out to me this week, let the music do the talking. So that’s the plan, and this week we have Death in the Sickroom, our Dublin Concerts Irish Band of the Week.

Formed in 2012 in Bluebell, the Dublin lads have been recently signed to the growing Reekus Records. Self-styling themselves as 12-String jangle Pop, they really seem to have a way with words. Catchy lyrics and melodies are just some of the strong points of this brilliant 4-piece.

DitS are set to headline the bank holiday party night at The Workman’s Club on Sunday 3rd August, along with a host of other talented acts followed by a whopper of a gig in Crane Lane Cork on the 6th for a midnight show.

Death in the Sickroom are poised to release their debut EP “Brick to the Face” in the coming weeks. Check out the Dublin Concerts review of their lead single from the EP, “Tonight”!
