Elaine Mai performed upstairs at Whelan’s last Saturday (January 12th).

How can a gal with a laptop, a guitar and some electronic instruments entertain a crowd in Whelan’s? Not hard, apparently, especially if it’s Elaine Mai. The Galway native plays very melodic tunes in spite of having a table full of mixers, controllers and keyboard you would usually see with a DJ. Her music has powerful lyrics that go well with her voice and the atmospheric mood she creates.
