Emeli Sande in Dublin

Emeli Sande, the british soul and R&B singer that played an important role in the musical side of the Olympics Closing Ceremony, will have a concert at The Olympia Theatre tonight from 7.

The 25 year old singer and songwriter had two number one hits in both Ireland and The UK: Next To Me and Read All About It.  Born from a Zambian father and English mother, Emeli grew up in scotland and studied Medicine at the University of Glasgow. She wrote her first song ath the age of just 11, for a scool talent show. That’s when she first thought that she might become a song writer. Emeli has written many successful songs both as a solo artist and for several others, including Tinie Tempah, Cher Lloyd, Leona Lewis and even Susan Boyle.

She will come to Dublin again on November 4th at The Olympia Theatre.
