Falamansa at The Academy (photos)

FalamansaFalamansa played The Academy on Saturday, January 26th.

Falamansa are a four piece band formed 15 years ago in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They are the biggest forró band in Brazil. Forró is a typical and danceable rhythm from north eastern Brazil. Falamansa (which means smooth talk) have been a crowd pleaser since they started in 1998 wherever they go. The band formed by Tato (guitar and vocals), Alemão (zabumba drum), Dezinho (triangle and percussion) and Valdir do Acordeom (accordion), has sold over 5,000,000 records. They have played at the world’s biggest international music festivals and are considered Brazil’s greatest “forró” band ever. Dublin’s vibrant Brazilian community made The Academy seem small at the show on Saturday.
