Gangs – Irish Band of the Week | DublinConcerts.ie
If you like your music with a bit of suited and booted swagger, then this week’s Irish Band of Week will be right up your street. Strutting and strumming along with Mod Revival flair, Gangs are really pressing all the buttons on the road to success.
Born out of childhood friendships and a shared appreciation of music and fashion, the Dublin band finally became one in the autumn of 2012. Less than 2 short years later and they are selling out shows far and wide and just recently have been added to the already stellar line up at Electric Picnic this weekend.
Recent single ‘Daisy’ from the EP ‘Back to School’ is a retro feeling Mod-influenced tune that will strike a chord with all Weller-ites. Read a review of ‘Daisy’ here. They have been a busy bunch all summer, from gigs across UK and Ireland to a wonderful video collaboration with Guinness Amplify where they talk about their hopes of being the first ultra-successful band to come out of Tallaght.
If you were not one of the lucky ones to get tickets to this year Electric Picnic festival, you can check out Gangs in London this week and for a special double show in Academy 2 in Dublin on September 27th. They kick the Dublin shows off with an Over-14’s matinee show, followed by a main over 18’s show later in the evening.
