LadyhawkeLadyhawke came to The Academy for the second gig in her UK & Ireland on Tuesday, November 6th. We were there and we enjoyed every minute of the night.

Dublin based punk rockers Dirty Epics were invited to support Ladyhawke, and they did a great job. More about that in a separate article.

“Pip” Brown, better known by the stage name Ladyhawke, began her career in New Zeeland in 2001, part of  Two Lane Blacktop, a Wellington based band. In 2003 she moved to Australia and founded rock band Teenager. After moving to London in 2007 she began her solo career as Ladyhawke and launched a self titled album that included My Delirium, her most successful tune yet. In 2012 Ladyhawke launched Anxiety, her second album.

The show at The Academy was extremely well-received, with a venue packed-full of screaming fans. Songs like Paris is Burning or You Set Me On Fire didn’t miss from the setlist, but the crowd had to wait until the encore for My Delirium. Pip had a very charming presence and even replied to love declarations from the audience.

More about Ladyhawke on her website.
