Raphaels Irish Band of the Week

After a short hiatus we are back again with the Dublin Concerts Irish Band of the Week.  This week we have a Dublin band with a cool smooth sound deriving from influences from the nineties and beyond. Raphaels are a band well known for their live performances and are now set to release their new EP ‘Colours & Sounds’.

This 4 track EP is a strong representation of the different sounds these boys bring together. From the opening title track to the funkily named ‘Monkey Dancing on a Razorblade’, these lads definitely know how to piece the perfect Indie track together. The closing track ‘Need this (and you do)’ is a real throwback track, with hints of Oasis forgotten album “Be Here Now” and the track ‘Fade In-Out’ in particular.

To coincide with this release, they are holding a launch party this Thursday, 27th November, for the new ‘Colours & Sounds’ EP Launch in Whelan’s  Upstairs. Support on the night comes from 2 superb acts in Ray Scully and Mongoose. Entry is only €5 and includes a free CD so arrive early to avoid disappointment!!
