Slow Skies at KnockanStockan 2013 – Review and Photos
Slow Skies – KnockanStockan – July 28th, 2013
The stage is set in a Fairy Tent with twinkly lights and soothing grassy slopes. The afternoon sun sets behind the main mic, from which appears the mystical voice of Karen Sheridan.
Her sweet, soft whispering melodies fill this fairy theatre. Passers by stop and become drawn in by it. She reels them in like a Sorrentine Siren. Her voice bears the softness of Cathy Davey, creates ambience and atmosphere perfect for the setting. The set carries a soft slow tempo with “Close”, their new EP “Ice Cream”, a magic lullaby lamenting a lost love, “Across the Sea”, a haunting sound skyscape and “On The Shore”. Well tuned arrangements ensure the songs carry the audience with them as wanderers continue to fall under Karen’s spell. Slow Skies have been making their music since 2011.
Their new EP “Close” is available now. Take a listen.
