That’s exactly what the 2009 Kerrang! revelation, The Gaslight Anthem, had to offer on Monday at The Olympia Theatre. Setting the rock tone from their very entrance with Led Zeppelin’s “Rock n Roll” in the background

The atmosphere was both intimate and energetic. The smell of burning joss sticks contributing to the former, and an awesome crowd to the latter. Indeed, the audience wasn’t there by mistake. It felt good to see the Olympia packed from floor to ceiling, with true fans who knew the lyrics of “Handwritten”, “American Slang”, or “45”.

The band played a powerful set that made the floor shake, but also took the time to share some cool stories about their experience with music magazine critiques, and the American president. Overall, it felt like there was a great vibe among the band members, which made it a really enjoyable evening!
