The Lumineers @ The Olympia Theatre DublinThe Olympia Theatre was shaking last night as the thousands of people that filled the venue sang “Ho Hey”.

The Lumineers at The Olympia Theatre Dublin was, without a doubt, one of the most awaited gigs of the month. The show has been sold out for weeks and there were loads of people outside the theatre hoping they could buy a ticket.

Fleetwod Mac’s The Chain was the tune the band chose for their stage appearance. Only Wesley, Jeremiah and Neyla came on stage for the first tune.

Although “Ho Hey”, with over 43 million views on YouTube, is the most popular Lumineers song, the crowd showed they’re true fans and sang along throughout the better part of the concert. As a reward, The Lumineers offered a double shot of their most famous song; an acoustic, no-amps version performed with the band standing right in the middle of the crowd and another one from the stage towards the end of the show.

The Colorado natives tried a few new songs last night, with great reactions from the audience. The Dublin crowd responded very well to seeing Neyla Pekarek, the band’s cellist, leave her instrument and joining Wesley Schultz in a duet. Their voices complemented nicely in what has the potential to become another Lumineers popular tune.

The Lumineerss Dublin concert was part of their European tour that includes shows (mostly sell-outs) in the UK, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, France and Switzerland.
