The Notas – Irish Band Of The Week
It’s time to present another great up and coming band in our Irish Band of the Week section. This week, The Notas are in the spotlight.
Before you read more about this amazing group, why don’t you hit play and enjoy “Rosemary” one of the tracks off “Creatures of The Night” – their four-track album released in early April. The album has three more brilliant songs, so do check it out.
The Notas are, as they describe themselves, a 6 piece indie band from Dublin made up of boys and girls from Ireland, Pakistan, Nigeria, France and Zimbabwe. The band formed in 2010 and they’ve been growing steadily ever since. With six talented musicians in the band, The Notas managed to create a distinctive sound for themselves. Their music is intriguing, complex and has deep, powerful lyrics.
We first saw them in January when they played Whelan’s during Ones To Watch Festival 2013. We were impressed by how mature their sound was, and we knew it they’re ones to watch. Hearing them is an interesting experience whether they’re on your iPod, on small stage in a pub or at a festival.
Speaking of festivals, The Notas are in the line-up of two important festivals this summer, so if you can, don’t miss the chance of seing them live. They’ll play the first edition of Groove Festival next Sunday in Whelan’s and CastlePalooza, in early August, along with a ton of other great Irish bands.
For their exciting music, huge potential and recent releases, The Notas are DublinConcerts.ie’s Irish Band of the Week.
Do you know a band worthy of being featured as our Irish Band of the Week? Give us a shout.
