The Profile at Whelan’s (photos)
The Profile performed on Whelan’s main stage last Friday, along with another two Drogheda bands: The Highlife and The Enemies.
Formed less than two years ago by brothers Sean and Brian Matthews in Drogheda, The Profile are a four-piece band who play pop rock tunes influenced by Elbow, REM, Thin Lizzy, Biffy Clyro etc. At the end of 2012 the band released a single called ‘So Good To Be Home’. They’re now working on a new EP which will be released in the following months. Besides their own tunes, The Profile also play covers.
The Profile’s set in Whelan’s was a strong display of healthy rock with guitar riffs and funky bass lines, on top of Sean’s vox, which reminded us of Elbow’s Guy Garvey. It’s obvious that all members of the band are talented musicians who love the stage, so we’re sure that they’ll increase their fan base with every gig they play. We’re looking forward to their EP and to seeing them again soon in Dublin.
Find out more about the band on their website and Facebook.
