The Statics debut EP launch (review & photos)
Thomas House hosted The Statics’ debut EP “Hidden Pidgeon” release gig last Saturday, April 20th.
With a very good opening set from The Eskies, The Statics had a packed-full venue ready for their tunes. The Dublin four-piece could have easily filled a much bigger venue for their EP launch gig, but instead they chose to have a more intimate gig.
Despite knowing the band and their music for a good while, this was our first live gig with The Statics. We can honestly say we should have done this much sooner. The energy you feel listening to their tunes is much more intensive live, amplified by the sheer joy you see on each of the band members. These guys simply love the stage, and that’s where they should be as often as possible. Their music is a well-proportioned mix of ’60s style rock’n’roll and modern indie that simply sticks with you once you get a taste.
After the successful release of their debut single “Holiday” in November 2012, The Statics have toured Ireland, growing their fan-base. 2013 looks like it’s going to be great for The Statics. Can’t wait to catch them live again at festivals this summer and to hear news about a new release.
You can buy the whole EP on iTunes.
