The Statics to launch a single at Whelan’s

The Statics

The StaticsThe Statics will launch “Holiday”, their debut single, upstairs at Whelan’s this Friday (November 9th).

The four piece Dublin band made a very good impression on us last Sunday, when they were featured on Radio Nova’s Locals Only show.  Since their formation in late 2010, The Statics have gigged constantly all over Ireland, including festivals like Castle Palooza, where they were one of the highlights of the weekend, according to blogger Barry Gruff.  With this release, the band are getting ready to grow even faster, to increase their fan base and the gigging frequency and perhaps to release some new material for 2013.

Holiday” is a very bold and edgy tune with a pure indie sound that will stick with you once you hear it. It’s noisy, but not chaotic. It’s aggressive, yet relaxing. That’s why, Holiday by The Statics is the Song Of The Week.

Band members: Liam Gardner – Guitar/Vocals; Daragh O’Connell – Lead Guitar/Vocals; Jacqueline Campion – Drums; Thomas Nugent – Bass. More details about them on their Facebook Page.

Admission for their gig upstairs at Whelan’s is €8 and kick off is at 8 PM. Anyone admitted will receive a copy of their single.
