Thomas Donoghue Band competed, together with, Stewart Agnew, The Juice and The Hot Sprockets, in the Play On The Day regional final competition that took place at Whelan’s on Thursday evening. Four great bands rocked the stage at Whelan’s but only one qualified for the all Ireland grand final, The Hot Sprockets.
Thomas Donoghue is an irish songwriter from Kilkenny. After a few years in various bands he decided to release material under his own name and work with a group of talented musicians (Ken Farrell – bass, Dan Pearson – drums and Peter Flynn – piano/ slide guitar) on the Thomas Donoghue Band. “In The Meantime”, their first EP was released in June and was followed by a mini tour.
