The Viking Project @ Jack of Diamonds Festival (photos)

The Viking Project (another great band we missed at Knockanstockan) played Sweeneys top floor on Saturday evening, day two of the Jack Of Diamonds Festival. We got there while they were getting ready and the bar was already full, despite the fact that there were at least 3 other gigs at the same time.

As soon as trey started playing, the whole crowd started to jump. Their infectious strong tunes were in perfect harmony with a crowd full of fun-loving folks at the end of a hot day in Dublin. It was great fun!

Although the band formed just a little over a year ago (April 2011), they’ve had many gigs in and around Dublin and played at festivals all over Ireland.

Band members:

  • Mick Purcell: Harmonica, Vocals
  • Ste Guyett: Guitar, Vocals
  • Andy Guyett: Drums, Vocals
  • David Tully: Guitar, Vocals
  • Tim George: Bass, Vocals (also plays with The Eskies)

Find out more about them on their Facebook page and listen to some of their songs on their Soundcloud profile.
