Two Door Cinema Club to play at the O2 Dublin on January 19th 2013

Two Door Cinema Club, the Northern Irish band, have just announced that they will come to Dublin for a show on Saturday, January 19th 2013 at The O2. Tickets will be on sale at Ticketmaster from Friday, August 31st from 9 AM.

The Dublin gig is part of the band’s UK & Ireland tour  to promote their new album, Beacon, that will be released on september 3rd. This is be the band’s second album, after Tourist History, released in February 2010.

  • the band has 3 members: Alex Trimble (lead vocals, guitar, synths), Sam Halliday (lead guitar, vocals) and Kevin Baird (bass, vocals, synths)
  • Alex Trimble took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, singing “Caliban’s Dream” – a song written by Underworld’s Rick Smith
  • the name “Two Door Cinema Club” came about after Sam mispronounced the name of the local cinema, Tudor Cinema
  • they will play in Dublin, at The Academy on September 7th
  • they will have an autograph signing and acoustic session in HMV Grafton Street Dublin
