We The People performed at Academy 2 on Saturday, October 13 as a supporting act for White McKenzie at their EP release concert.

Formed in 2011 in Waterford, We The People have quickly found  their sound. After a period of playing in Waterford, the band have started performing all around Ireland and growing their fan base.

They are currently touring in various venues around Ireland promoting their recently released EP “You Can’t Say That In Public”, as well as their latest single “What Say You” (released at the end of September). The four-piece alternative rock band have a busy end of the year with a new video for their single Geronimo that will be released on November 21st and recording two new songs that will be released in January and March next year.

We The People have opened the night on Saturday in a chilly and almost empty Academy 2 venue, but the room slowly started to fill until the end. Their tunes were agressive, full of energy and the lads were really enjoying being on stage. At one pont it seemed that Darragh, the bass payer, was going to throw away his guitar, just so he can jump and dance without restrictions.

Band members: Michael Doyle (Vocals), Dean Walsh (Guitar), Dael O’Brien (Drums) and Darragh Sutton (Bass).

We’ve enjoyed their gig and we will definitely keep an eye on them from now on.

Find out more about them on their website, and Facebook page, and stay up to date with their activity by following them on Twitter.
