The Boomtown Rats to play Vicar Street in October
After a very well-received performance at Live at The Marquee Cork a few days ago, The Boomtown Rats have just confirmed two shows at Dublin’s Vicar Street.
The shows will take place on October 12th and 13th.
The legendary Irish post-punk band reformed earlier this year, after an almost 27 year long break.
After confirming the two gigs, Boomtown frontman Bob Geldof said “We can’t wait to get back to Boomtown. The best way to see a band like ours is up close and sweaty in a club like Vicar St.”
Tickets for the Vicar Street shows, priced at €39, go on sale this Friday from Ticketmaster.
The Boomtown Rats will release a new album on August 5th. Titled “Back To Boomtown: Classic Rats’ Hits”, the album will feature all of the band’s celebrated hits including “Lookin’ After No 1”, “Like Clockwork”, “She’s So Modern”, “I Don’t Like Mondays” and “Rat Trap”.
