Festivals

Castlepalooza
Location: Charleville Castle, Tullamore. What better place for a weekend of music & arts than the grounds of a 17th century castle hidden away in Ireland’s oldest oak woods! And not far from all major cities!

Indiependence

Indiependence also comes with spoken word set, a comedy tent, a silent disco, and some late night burlesque, with a few workshops if you’re feeling it! And it’s family friendly! How well rounded of you, Indie!

Oxegen
Location: Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co. Kildare.

Le Chéile
Location:  Oldcastle, Co. Meath.
Line-Up: Ham Sandwich, Keywest, Kila, Featuring X, Walking on Cars, Jemsen Green, The Hot Sprockets.

This event is 100% family friendly with an All Ages gig, kid’s art workshops and street artists, on top of the music line-up!

Concerts
Not want to leave the capital this weekend? Well, here’s an outstanding list of gigs that might just take your fancy!

Friday
Hot 8 Brass Band @ The Sugar Club. 8pm.
New Orleans based brass band founded in 1995, that make such a sweet concoction of jazz, funk and hip-hop! And oh my, their cover of Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing is not to be missed!

Protobaby @ Whelans. 7pm.
Limerick rockers Protobaby take to the Whelans stage with support from Andy Earley, two nights before they take over the Canadian Stage at Indiependence.

Saturday
The Mighty Stef @ Whelans.
Rock’n’rollers The Mighty Stef hit Whelans at 8pm for a mere €8 a ticket!

Tandem Felix @ The Workman’s Club

Chris Woods @ Whelans. 8pm.
Chris Woods is one of the UK’s most enthralling instrumentalists and comes to Whelans for one night to fill your ears with some groove based guitar goodness.
