Ham Sandwich – Irish Band of the Week
Straight after supporting Mumford and Sons at their highly anticipated Pheonix Park gig just last week, this band just could not be overlooked for our weekly top spot! Ham Sandwich are a five piece indie rock band hailing from Kells in Meath leaving their stamp all over the irish music scene.
Having played the supporting role for acts like Bon Jovi and The Dandy Warhols and played a multitude of this years summer festivals, it seems Ham Sandwich are playing all of their cards right and they’re making their way up the ranks! The band live off the energy of their live crowd and their on stage humor and enthusiasm have made them a band that are just not to be missed on a live stage! They aren’t exactly newcomers to the live scene and their experience shows, pushing them far ahead of the pack! With Niamh Farrell and Podge McNamee teaming up to give the bands signature combination of juxtaposing vocals, Darcy on guitar, David McEnroe on bass and Ollie Murphy on the drums, they attack a live stage with an energetic and passionate presence that just cannot be overlooked.
They currently have album number 3 in the works but until it’s highly awaited release, you can get familiar with an impressive back catalogue, starting with their video for crowd-pleaser “Models” below!
