Roisin O, a young, talented Irish musician

Roisin O is a 23 year old Irish folk pop singer/songwriter based in Dublin who has recently released her second single (the first one has been released in May). According to her website, the band are currently working on an album that is due to be launched on September 21st in Whelan’s. What’s special about this album, besides the fact that, judging by the first singles, that it looks like it will be really good, is that it’s produced by David Odlum. For those of you who don’t know who he is, David Odlum is a very successful Irish grammy winning producer who has worked with artists such as Tinariwen, Josh Ritter, Jape or Gemma Hayes.

Roisin started performing and writing music since she left school and in spite of her youth she opened important concerts on many of Ireland’s important stages, for big artists:  Mary Black, Imelda May, The Coronas, Brad Paisley and Robert Cray. She has also performed live on a few Irish TV stations.  Alan Tully (guitars and vocals), Brian Murphy (bass and vocals) and Ruth O’Mahony Brady (keys and vocals) are the other musicians in her band and they have been working together for the past year on their debut album, the Secret Life of Blue.

You can catch her live on September 21st at Whelan’s.

More info about her on her website, Facebook page and Twitter account .
