Eskies EP Launch

Eskies EP LaunchThe Eskies have launched their debut EP, Sherry Go Round, on Friday night at The Grand Social.

We’ve seen The Eskies live both at Knockanstockan and at Jack Of Diamonds Festival. We’ve enjoyed their music from the beginning and we were happy to have the privilege of being invited to see them on their special night. The venue was shaking from the dancing of the crowd on their merry tunes and getting to the front row for a couple of snaps proved to be a real challenge. As I was getting closer to the stage, more and more men were wearing top hats, pocket watches and canes, so the journey to the front row also felt like a journey through time.

On the stage, five lads were giving it all for the amazing crowd in front of them. Talented and enthusiastic musicians, The Eskies know how to make their tunes sound even better live than they do on the CD. They have such a good time playing that it’s almost imposible to not feel the same.

Sherry Go Round is the perfect end to The Eskies’ best year so far. After appearing at Knockanstockan, Electric Picnic, JoD, the Dublin-based band released a five tunes EP presented in an elegant case and offered to everyone admitted at their launch. The tunes featured on the disc are the most representative pieces for The Eskies. Have a listen at the band’s YouTube profile to get a taste of Sherry Go Round and catch them live if you get the chance.

Rufus Coates & The Blackened Trees and Graham Sharpe supported The Eskies’ gig on Friday night. Rufus Coates & The Blackened Trees opened the night slowly bringing the crowd into party mood and Graham Sharpe and his guitar really warmed the atmosphere. We love it when we discover talented musicians as supporting acts at the gigs we go to.

It was a fantastic night. Thank you, Eskies!
